What is Nourish?
Nourish is a digital care management system used by care teams in the UK and overseas.
It provides tools for recording care, completing assessments, viewing timelines and managing information about the people receiving support.
By connecting Nourish to Altra, your organisation can share important information between the two systems automatically. This reduces duplicate data entry and helps keep information consistent.
What does the integration do?
Once the integration is switched on, Nourish and Altra can share the following information.
People you support
Basic profile information is transferred from Nourish to Altra.
Nourish remains the main system for managing this information. When supported-person details are updated in Nourish, the changes are sent to Altra during the next sync.
Activities
Activities recorded in Altra are added to the supported person’s timeline in Nourish.
This can include:
The activity name and description
Where the activity took place
Whether the person took part
Whether the person declined
The activity rating
Any comments added by the staff member
The name of the person who completed the record
Relatives and friends
Details for relatives or friends can be sent from Nourish to Altra.
After you review and approve the contact in Altra, they will receive an invitation to create an Altra Family account.
Staff members
Staff profiles can be transferred from Nourish to Altra.
You can review each staff member, choose their Altra permissions and approve their account before access is given.
Before you begin
You will need:
Access to both Nourish and Altra
Super Manager access in Altra
Superuser access in Nourish
If your organisation does not yet have an Altra account, contact your Nourish Customer Success Manager.
It is also helpful to have both Nourish and Altra open at the same time, as you will need to copy a code from Altra and paste it into Nourish.
How do I switch on the integration?
Before you start, you need access to both Altra and Nourish, please contact your Nourish customer success manager if you’re interested in purchasing Altra and you don’t already have an account.
Within Altra, go to Org Settings
Go to the Integration tab, then you will see a ‘Nourish Integration Token’ (you need to be a super manager to see this area)
Tick the box to ‘Sync with Nourish’ and ‘Save changes’
An integration token will appear in the box, this is what you need for the next steps:
Go to Nourish and navigate to Administration > Extensions (you will need to be a superuser to do this).
On the Extensions page, find 'Altra’ Extension, and click the arrow to expand the drop down.
You will see all the locations in your service listed. Select the toggle to activate the integration for the relevant locations in your service.
Review and accept the Terms and Conditions, and click continue:
Then paste the token from Altra into the token box and press confirm:
The integration should now show as on for each of the relevant locations:
11. Make sure you edit the interaction visibility of Altra Account Creation and Altra Activity to give access to your teams:
How often will profile information sync from Nourish to Altra?
Once the integration is set up as above, resident profile information will automatically be transferred from Nourish to Altra once a day at approximately 1am each morning.
We recommend running the first transfer manually by clicking "start sync" on the Org Settings page in Altra.

Once you have switched on the integration you can run a manual transfer of person supported information.
