Residents and Profiles

How do I add a new resident?

Click Add resident in the top right of the Residents tab, then either add them individually or import several at once via CSV.

What shows up on a resident’s profile?

Recent posts they’ve been tagged in (including automatic activity updates), their full activity participation history with staff comments, and the family members — active and pending — linked to them.

What happens when a resident passes away or leaves?

Archive them from their profile’s Edit screen. Their content stays available in case a family asks for it later, and archived residents can be reactivated at any time.

How do residents get their own login?

From the resident’s profile, click Edit, then Generate Resident Login Details. Without an email address, Altra creates a username and password for them (changeable later from My Profile); with an email address, they set their own password from the invitation email.

What is “resident consent,” and where do I record it?

It’s a visual flag on the resident’s profile that your team can use to track whether a resident has agreed to have their photo shared online — set it from the same Edit screen.

How does the AI Activity Companion know what to suggest?

It draws on how complete a resident’s profile is — their interests, life goals, and any limitations or adaptations needed — plus their participation history and current mood. The more detail on the profile, the better the suggestions.
