Who can access Altra, and how do I log in?
Altra has four account types — Staff, Manager, Super Manager and Group User — each with different levels of access, and a separate family-facing app (Altra Family) for residents’ relatives. Everyone logs in with the email and password set when their account was created, or resets a forgotten password from the login page or My Profile.
I’m a family member — how do I get started with Altra Family?
Once a manager or staff member adds you as a relative, you’ll receive an email invitation — follow the link to sign up. Altra Family works in any web browser, or as an app for Android and iPhone/iPad. Everything you see is linked to your loved one’s profile, so you’ll only ever see updates about them.
How do I reset my password or update my profile?
Two ways: from the login page (or directly at app.altra.ie/password/reset), or from My Profile once you’re logged in, where you can update your password directly.
What’s the difference between Staff, Manager, Super Manager and Group User accounts?
Staff — a focused account for day-to-day care workers and activity facilitators; access to each feature is granted individually.
Manager — oversees day-to-day operations at a single home, with access to most features, and can grant or adjust Staff permissions.
Super Manager — the highest-level account within a single home (typically the home’s director), with full administrative control, including managing Manager accounts.
Group User — for staff working across multiple homes, with Super Manager-level rights scoped to each home they’ve been given access to.
An account’s type can be changed later by opening the user’s details and clicking Change user type — what you can change depends on your own account’s permissions.
